The sun has set on another month. On another weekend. Tomorrow starts a new cycle of our weekly routines.
Life moves so fast but can feel so mundane at times. We wonder if there is value in the day to day. Are we making the most of this life when we stick to the same daily routine? It all feels like the same ‘ole, same ‘ole.
I had this conversation with a dear new friend at church one night when we were both feeling the mundaneness of motherhood.
The next morning God answered our prayer for renewed joy amidst the seemingly monotonous ebb and flow of motherhood as I opened my freshly started book.
In Chapter 2 of Beholding and Becoming, Ruth Chou Simons reminds us of God’s faithfulness. He causes the sun to rise every morning. He positions the stars in the sky every night. He is faithful and steadfast and never leaves us. He delights in the routine of orchestrating the day for us!
What if we saw the tasks of our days like that? We are orchestrating the day for our most precious loved ones. Providing comforting food, a happy home, a safe haven – and a joyful, confident mother they can all come home to. Wouldn’t that change everything?
If you’ve felt the mundaneness of life, I challenge to readjust your lens to see your days through His eyes. And, Amazon Prime you a copy of Beholding and Becoming to center your heart and mind each morning. You will not regret it!
