HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
A year ago I launched CharlestonHomemaker.com because I wanted to bring real hope to mommas who felt alone, unworthy or lost in the ebb and flow of motherhoood.
I felt called to share my postpartum experience and journey back to doing the things that make me “me” while being a wife and mom.
Yea, I’ve shared recipes and DIYs and maybe every marsh scene in our neighborhood… but the most important thing I have shared are these words right here.
Making a happy home starts with making a happy you.
It doesn’t matter how gorgeous your home is, how spotless your floors are, how well dressed your kiddos might be or how delicious your dinners taste. YOU are the pulse for your home. More than all those things, your family wants you. The best version of you.
I’ve learned this firsthand over the past year. Let me tell you – I am not the same wife, mom or friend I was a year ago!

❤️ Figure out the best ways to take care of yourself. Exercise, sleep, whole food, quiet time…

❤️ Find ways to make your to-do’s and responsibilities simpler. A chore routine is not just for type A’s!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️ Use the time savings to do the things that bring you joy! Use your God-given gifts!

❤️ CONNECT with other moms! Be it a play date or joining a Bible study. We are all teammates, not competition!

❤️ Pray. Then pray some more. And some more.

When you are genuinely happy and filled with deep rooted joy – your home will exude the same energy. Even if the floors are unmopped and a frozen pizza is in the oven for dinner.
Momma, you are strong. You are worthy. You are capable.
